Sojourn’s mission is to bring glory to God through lives changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that the gospel-focused, missional local church is God’s chosen instrument for doing the work of his kingdom on Earth. Therefore, we believe in planting churches led by qualified elders in Louisville, our region, our nation, and in every corner of the world. We set aside 12% of Sojourn’s annual budget to missions, and a good portion of that goes to church planting.

Our prayer is to be a place where church planters are raised up, equipped, encouraged, resourced, connected, and sent out to start new, gospel-focused, missional churches throughout our city, nation and world. We believe planting local, missional, Christ-centered communities is the primary vehicle that God is using to bring his children unto himself. Sojourn’s primary means for raising church planters will be our Residency Program, starting in the fall of 2008. We will also maintain partnerships with the churches we plant and support, and with church planting organizations like Acts 29 network.
