Sending

Our God loves the world and is actively calling a people to himself from every nation, tribe, and tongue.

The work of making disciples is not accomplished by our own strength or wisdom, but by the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit through earnest prayer dependence and obedience.

As a sending church we are proactive in identifying, assessing, developing, and affirming qualified men and women who sense a calling to proclaim the gospel and make disciples among the nations. We desire to help equip our sent ones whether they are starting or running businesses, going as marketplace workers or serving as vocational missionaries.

Acknowledging the variety of gifts, experience, expertise, and professional qualifications among those in our church who are called to go, we seek to mobilize the entire body, valuing both traditional and non-traditional sending pathways utilizing short, mid-term and long-term engagement.

Aware that we are a small part of a much larger sending/missions community, we partner with like-minded churches, national church leaders, intentional companies doing business abroad, and sending agencies with a high value for  the local church in order to benefit from their experience and increase our effectiveness.

Understanding the unique challenges faced by our sent ones, we commit to holistic care, continuous encouragement and practical support through every stage of their journey, from pre-field mobilization and development to post-service re-entry.

We believe that mission happens best in the context of team, and as a result we send our members to existing field teams or to new places where others will serve alongside, whether they are from Sojourn or another partnering organization.
