We're glad you are considering Sojourn East as a place where you can belong. Church membership is a way of committing yourself to the unity, growth,
and mission of the local church and asking the church to invest in your life and growth. The New Member Class is a gathering hosted by pastors and staff where we share with you our story and get to know a little bit of your own.
New Member Classes generally occur twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. If you would like additional information email Lyndsay at email@example.com. Attendance is required for both Sundays.
What to Expect at the New Members Class
Sojourn East's Story
- Our history and mission
- Introduction to key leaders
- How to get connected for community and growth
- Meaningful church membership
- Q&A Panel
Church membership is about belonging to a community. So during the class, you'll be seated at a table with 6-8 other people. Each person at the table will have three to five minutes to share a little of
their story with those people. You'll receive resources ahead of time to explain more and help you prepare. This is an easy way to celebrate the work of God in your life and get to know other members.
What to Expect Afterward
Meet with a Pastor
Your first step after the class is to meet with one of our pastors. They'd like to meet you and hear a little more of your story. You can ask questions about the church, learn ways to get connected, and talk more about membership.
At our next Member Meeting, we will publicly affirm you as a new member and officially welcome you into membership at Sojourn East.
